What happens when a nanny does something that you don’t appreciate? In the contract that you sign when hiring a nanny, you should define specific disciplinary actions that can and should be taken when and if the nanny doesn’t perform their job.

A nanny’s job is not to clean your home, to wash the dishes or to make beds. The nanny’s job is to care for the child during the time that they are there. If you will require them to do housekeeping, make sure this is defined and agreed to in the contract when you hire them.

What type of first aid training does your nanny have? If they don’t have an updated license for first aid, make sure they get it as soon as possible. This should provide your child with protection from things like choking and injuries. Any nanny that doesn’t provide this service isn’t someone that you want to have.
